Roses, Granville City join Senior League elites
GRANVILLE, St James — There is a log-jam of five teams tied on points at the top of the St James FA’s Claro Senior League after wins by Salt Spring Roses and Granville City on Thursday.
Salt Spring Roses and Granville City join Little Miami, Revelations and Melbourne, all on 12 points, while Violet Kickers moved away from the foot off the tables with a win over Salt Spring United.
Roses edged Revelations 2-1 at Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College in Granville, while Granville City whipped last-placed North Gully Ambassadors 3-0.
Violet Kickers moved two places up to eighth spot after beating Salt Spring United 3-0 at Albion.
Meanwhile, in the Claro Division One, Norwood Strikers made it six wins in a row with a 5-2 beating of Seaview at Albion earlier in the week.
The promoted Norwood extended their lead over Kempshot to four points, 18-14, after the second-placed team was held to a 0-0 draw by Abes Academy.
