Bring back values and attitudes
Dear Editor,
Some types of music, magazines and advertisements are having a negative impact on our people, especially the children.
It is a pity that things have come to this, because the warning were therefor years.
When PJ Patterson saw the decline, he called for a revaluation of our values and attitudes, many people scoffed at the idea. But events have shown that we really needed to do so. It is not too late to do the correct thing to rescue our people, since politicians, especially the ruling administration, is looked upon with suspicions and negativity. It is best that they say nothing to people concerning good morals.
However, I believe that there are enough competent and respected people who can lead the transformation to retake our nation from thenegative forces that have been plaguing us for too long.
I therefore recommend three people of good repute who can lead a team of their choice without interference from government to make a turnaround of good values and attitude in our nation with
the help of God. They are: Rev Peter Garth, Rev Harold Daniels and Bishop Charles Defour. There are other forms of getting out the
message like using billboards, cellphones, buses, etc.
Saying “thanks”, respecting yourself and others, decency, education, fear of God, and noting that life is precious are positive messages which need to be inculcated in the minds of our people. With this I’m sure in the next five years or so, things will be the way they are supposed to be.
