Toyota cops NCB dealer of the year
TOYOTA Jamaica, for the fifth consecutive year, has copped the National Commercial Bank (NCB) Auto Dealer of the Year award.
“I am happy and overwhelmed for my award. It’s an excellent feeling to have been acknowledged and awarded again,” Toyota Jamaica sales representative Kevin Jackson remarked at Tuesday’s award ceremony held at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in Kingston.
“It feels good when we are recognised for our hard work, especially throughout these hard times,” said Jackson, also the first-prize winner of the 2009 — 2010 NCB New-Car Sales Representative of the Year.
The NCB Auto Dealers Awards recognise the top used and new car dealers making loan referrals to the bank during the period 2009 to 2010.
“As at the end of the financial year 2009/2010, the value of referrals received from Toyota Jamaica was approximately 37 per cent of the total value of loan referrals from all the new car dealers,” said NCB promotions officer Joseph Montague.
“This stream of business contributed significantly to the growth of NCB’s motor vehicle loan portfolio,” he added.
Stewarts Auto Sales and ATL Motors were awarded the second and third places respectively, in the same award category.
In addition to Jackson’s award and the Auto Dealer of the Year award, Toyota Jamaica sales representatives Andrew Campbell and Dorothy Buchanan were awarded second and third place in the category Top New Car Sales Representatives.
As the awards continued, Crichton Automotive Limited won the Used Car Dealer of the Year Award. Auto Channel placed second, while Wheels & Wheels Auto Brokers Limited was third.
The award for Most Improved Used Car Dealer of the Year went to Jus Com Motors Limited.
Evelyn Reece-Sinclair of Pakjam Motors Limited received the award for the Most Improved Used Car sales representative while Neville Richards of Stewarts Auto Sales won the award for the Most Improved New Car Sales Representative.
Top Used Car Dealer Representative went to Judith Thompson of Auto Channel Limited as Jermaine Blair of Crichton Automotive and Evelyn Reece-Sinclair of Pakjam Motors Limited were placed second and third respectively.
Upon the closure of the ceremony, special mention was made of Toyota Jamaica, Stewarts Auto Sales and Kingston Industrial Garage, the top three dealers with NCB for the first quarter this year. Crichton Automotive, Jetcon Corporation and Auto Channel were the top-three used car dealers for the 2011 first quarter.
All the awardees are a part of the NCB Auto Advantage Club — a provider of cash incentives to new and used car dealers who refer customers to NCB for automobile loan financing.
