First staging of International Reggae Wine Festival for Rose Hall in August
MONTEGO BAY, St James — ANOTHER music festival will this summer be added to the Montego Bay entertainment calendar. This is the CSR Promotions staging of the inaugural International Reggae Wine Festival at Cinnamon Hill, Rose Hall in August.
The much-anticipated event will feature acts from veteran reggae crooner John Holt, as well as several young reggae singers, including Tessanne Chin, Romaine Virgo and Alaine.
The Observer is among a list of media sponsors who have come out in support of the event.
Speaking at the launch of the event at the Witter Village last week, the Observer’s Montego Bay Branch manager Kenya Keddo-Laing, expressed optimism that the event will generate spending in the tourist resort city.
“We are sure that this new addition to Montego Bay’s event calendar will have a positive impact on businesses in and around the city, and ultimately on our country,” said Keddo Laing. “We are anticipating a successful staging of this inaugural event, which promises to be very successful and we are looking forward to partnering with you for future staging.”
The event, organisers say, is being aggressively marketed across the US.
“The International Reggae Wine Festival showcasing the complete lifestyle, inclusive of food, the fashion and the arts, will see Jamaicans and visitors, primarily from the United States coming together for the wonderful experience,” said Ornella Smith, who spoke on behalf of CSR Promotions.
The one-day event will serve up some of the best wines and spirits from Jamaican and international wine purveyors, including Lascelles Wine and Spirits and Betco Premier Limited, she added.
