Crystal United start netball title defence
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Crystal United will start the defence of their St James Netball Association’s Hunger Buster/Impact Auto Senior League this afternoon as the season gets underway with a double-header at the Montego Bay Boys and Girls club.
Crystal will meet Blazers in a Zone A game in the second game of the afternoon after Sting and last season’s beaten finalists Twelve Star meet in the opening game at 3:30 pm.
Ten teams are taking part in the league this season and will see the team playing in two zones of five each with two rounds separated by an end-of-round meeting between the leaders.
The top two team in each group will then advance to the semi-finals set for Sunday, September 4 and the final a week later.
Crystal United lead Zone A that will include Blazers, Angels B, Pacers Juveniles and Starlight Juniors.
Zone B will see Twelve Star, Sting, Angels A, Pacers A and Starlight A.
The league is set to continue on Wednesday with Angels A and Pacers A meeting with another double-header set for next Saturday and Sunday.
