FIFA names dates for 2014 World Cup in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — FIFA says the 2014 World Cup in Brazil will be played from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, July 13.
The tournament will involve 32 countries playing 64 matches over 32 days.
FIFA says the Confederations Cup will be staged from June 15-30, 2013.
The tournament is an eight-team test event featuring host Brazil, defending World Cup winner Spain and the six champions of FIFA’s continental confederations.
