Bodybuilding & Fitness competition on this Saturday
The Jamaica BodyBuilding and Fitness Association (JBBFA) is set to present its first major event for the 2011 season on Saturday, ahead of the 39th Central American & Caribbean (CAC) BodyBuilding Championships in El Salvador between September 21 and 26, and the National Senior Championships later in the year.
The Junior, Inter-High School, InterCollegiate Championship competitions to be held at the Girl Guides HQ will see over 30 male/female competitors vying for the coveted champion titles, starting at 7:00 pm. Special awards will be given in the figure and bikini categories.
Prejudging will take place at 10:00 am Saturday morning ahead of the finals later on that night.
Citing bodybuilding and fitness as the father of all sports, veteran trainer/bodybuilder Steve McNally, president of JABBFA, stated that for those youngsters who may not have an interest in other popular sports, like cricket, football or basketball, this is a prime alternative to keep the youth healthy, fit and occupied.
The National Bodybuilding Open Championships slated for October is expected to see the return of many Jamaicans in the Diaspora, now gearing up to compete at the highest level in this premier competition.
