New record label aiming to make a difference
There is a new record label in town and it’s GoodThyme Click/MaxaMusic.
The company has now formed alliances with various corporate sponsors and Caribbean artistes to pave new avenues with the ultimate goal to generate revenue in the music industry in both the Caribbean and US markets.
GoodThyme Click/MaxaMusic Group is a multimedia conglomerate which focuses on brand management, representation and music distribution. With EJ Albowicz, President and Chairman of MaxaMusic Group and Sean ‘Due’ Lashley, President and CEO of GoodThyme Click, at the helm, the companies have released a string of chart-topping hit singles in 2010 such as LaLa Song by Wonder Mike and Master Gee formerly of the Sugarhill Gang with HenDogg and DJ T Dynasty (now known as Rapper’s Delight) featuring Bob Sinclair, Woman by Beenie Man and Your Lovin by Meryl Carter featuring Vybz Kartel. Such singles showcase the diverse range of an ever-growing and impressive catalogue.
GoodThyme Click/MaxaMusic Group has executed agreements to produce singles and videos with Lady Saw, Tifa, Beenie Man, Chiney K and Tony Matterhorn. A joint venture arrangement was also consummated by the companies pursuant to which the music group agreed to utilise the Nuvo brand for product integration and placement with the aforementioned artistes.
“We are only a couple months into this relationship and I am proud of the progress being made on all projects,” says EJ Albowicz, chairman of the board of MaxaMusic Group.
The newest riddim released under the Nuvo joint venture arrangement is titled the Due Riddim and is produced by Sean “Due” Lashley and Vic Flowers under the GoodThyme Click production banner. The Due Riddim includes versions by Tifa (Get Flat), Beenie Man Party and Bull, Tony Matterhorn Rollin’ Solo and Rapper’s Delight Wine’em Up. The Due Riddim was mixed by Conroy Forte and is currently gaining recognition throughout the Caribbean, Europe and US markets.
The video for Tifa’s Get Flat was officially released on June 30 and was highlighted by a video release extravaganza at Club Fiction in Kingston, Jamaica that was sponsored by Nuvo, Diageo, The London Group and GoodThyme Click/MaxaMusic Group.
The video release party was a great success and attended by a wide variety of A-list artistes and celebrities.
“The video shoot for Get Flat was unique. I truly enjoy working with Tifa as she is a strong, professional and responsible talent in the industry. I expect to see her cross on all plateaus and know she will be a part of our music family for many years to come,” says Sean “Due” Lashley.
The companies most recently teamed up with The London Group and Diageo to provide marketing and promotion consultation for the Nuvo brand throughout the Caribbean.
