West Park top Galaxy in Lloyd Plummer League
MAY PEN, Clarendon — West Park rallied for a 4-2 beating of Galaxy on Tuesday at West to retain second place in Zone Two of the Central Clarendon/INSPORTS/Lloyd Plummer Memorial Summer League.
The hosts suffered a set back from as early as the sixth minute as Cleon Barrette fired Galaxy in front.
West Park would, however, go on to dictate play and had a 3-1 lead to show for their dominance at the half with goals from Corey Hamilton, Rohan Richards and Otave Roberts.
Roberts put further day light between the teams on 52 minutes, but Ricardo Thompson gave Galaxy a fighting chance with 26 minutes left to play.
That strike was, nonetheless, not enough to trigger a comeback for Galaxy as they stayed second from bottom with one point, the same as Little Brazil, who have played a game less.
Conversely, West Park’s victory saw them joining leaders Race Track on four points, but with an inferior goal difference.
