AFTER a two-week trial stint with English League One side Preston North End, Tivoli Gardens and Jamaican international Keammar Daley has finally received an official offer from the club, president Edward Seaga told the Observer on Sunday.

However, the former prime minister was quick to point out that Tivoli Gardens FC was not satisfied with all aspects of the deal and he has since made a counter proposal to the English club, which now has the ball in their court.

Seaga had said most of the club’s contacts over the trial period was through Daley’s agent, but following the arrival of the official documentation, Tivoli Gardens FC’s representatives examined the proposal and responded yesterday.

“We hadn’t heard from the club, it was just the agent we were hearing from, and he’s (Daley) looking to play for the club… it’s not the agent that he’s playing for.

“So there is now an official bid on the table, as I got something today (Sunday) and I’m now going through it and looking to see if we can answer it tomorrow (Monday),” he said on Sunday.

“But there are some things that we are not pleased with and nothing can happen until we have straighten those out,” he added, without giving any details.

The Tivoli Gardens FC president said that Daley, who is now back in the island, had agreed with the club’s stance, but was hoping the two clubs could reach an amicable solution.

“He was with me on Friday, along with the attorney, and he has agreed with the position that we have taken, now he’s only waiting to hear if they clear it up.

“If not, they (Preston) are not the only one, so we will move in another direction… but it’s not satisfactory at the present time,” he had said.

Meanwhile, Craig Brown, the former Scotland manager and now boss of Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen, recently expressed grave disappointment at missing out on signing the Jamaican international.

The Pittodrie manager revealed that he made an enquiry about bringing Daley to the SPL, but says his hopes have now been dashed after the player impressed on trial at Deepdale.

Brown said on the dailyrecord.co.uk website that: “I made a call to Keammar Daley’s agent asking about the player. I made enquiries about him but that’s as far as it went.”

There was also interest in the Reggae Boyz ace from Turkey, but Seaga said Preston made the best offer.

Preston manager Phil Brown said: “Keammar is a Jamaican international and we have given him a chance here.”

The 23-year-old, who has 11 international caps, began his career at Jamaican club Meadhaven United and joined Tivoli Gardens in 2009.

He joined the Lilywhites for a trial period during the summer and was selected by Brown in two pre-season friendly matches against Morecambe and Wigan, where he made big impressions.

He also featured prominently for the Reggae Boyz in the 2011 Gold Cup in the United States in June, and was highly expected to make his debut in the League One opener against Colchester on Saturday.
