THE United States ambassador to Jamaica, Pamela Bridgewater hosted approximately 150 Facebook fans at the embassy recently and there was much to celebrate.

The ambassador and her staff toasted the fans that came from all over the island for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the inside workings of Mission Kingston.

Each fan was greeted personally by the ambassador and other key members of her staff. After brief introductions and desciptions of their roles, a presentation was made to Stacy Tracey Heron, who was the Embassy’s 9,500th fan. Heron won a Kindle Notebook preloaded with 250 books and will be able to access some 33,000 books from the Information Resource Centre at the Embassy.

Massive cake-cutting aside, the fans and embassy employees chatted the evening away, look at some of the letters addressed to the ambassador from President Barack Obama and much to the fans delight they were able to pose for numerous photographs with their host.
