Online party for Arthur Guinness celebrations
Guinness is hosting the largest social media party in the Caribbean to celebrate Arthur’s Day next Thursday, which will be streamed live on Facebook.
Arthur’s Day Live will be held at the National Indoor Sports Centre and will be headlined by Assassin, I-Octane and KES the band from Trinidad. Guinness is offering 500 of its Facebook fans special invites to the concert. However, the entire Guinness Caribbean community will witness the greatness as the concert will be streamed live. The concert will also be streamed live via satellite to 13 Caribbean countries.
Caribbean nationals across the region will join the world-wide third annual Arthur’s Day celebration to honour the life and work of Sir Arthur Guinness, founder of the Guinness brewery. Last year Guinness celebrated with a huge concert in Jamaica at the National Stadium, bringing lucky fans from the various islands to the reggae capital. This year’s event will be a more up-close and personal experience for Guinness consumers.
Guinness Brand Manager Gary Dixon explained, “We have a very active and engaging online community and we wanted to reward them by giving them first options on tickets for next week’s show. They’ll also be a part of what is a huge global event as countries right across the world recognise and celebrate Arthur’s day.”
For the last three years, countries across the globe have celebrated the legendary founder Arthur Guinness in a variety of ways, from a simple toast in the local bars to big concerts with thousands of fans. From Ireland and Europe across to the USA, Caribbean and ending in Asia, 24 hours of global celebrations and live music events will mark another year to toast Guinness and what it represents.
The concert officially begins at 5:59 pm on Thursday with a symbolic toast to Sir Arthur. Patrons at popular spots such as Twisted Kilt, Ken’s Wildflower, Irish Rovers, The Jungle and Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records will also participate.
