Hide Away with Jermaine Edwards
ARE you looking for the perfect escape that allows you to bask in the presence of God?
Then, Jermaine Edwards’ fourth studio album Hide Away is just the tool you need to take you on your journey. You will certainly witness a redemptive process of change and deliverance in listening to this project.
A compilation of 16 well-written songs, Hide Away is conveniently released in a period when Jamaica needs to seek refuge in Jesus.
With messages of faith in God and God’s grace, this album signifies restoration, higher heights and a closer relationship with God. Jermaine declares: “This project speaks about a different time that we live in where as Christians it can be tough in these days to maintain a healthy Christian living so you just have to dwell in the presence of God even more and just hide away.”
Starting things off with a rock-inspired You Are God, Jermaine then switches the tempo to a traditional praise vibe with Nothing But The Blood.
To continue on this journey, Rondell Positive joins him with the God Is A Good God medley, that promises to make the weary find joy and dance like David danced.
I Feel Joy comes next to relax the soul with the cool reggae rhythm and expressive lyrics to God and his greatness.
This is followed by In My Life featuring Sean Lypher, which paves the way for Jesus I Need You Now. Both songs will bring you into a reflective mood, as they seek to leave one begging God for more of Him.
“Oh Lord, I want to be used by you.” This Edwards states in his next track, Hope In You. The track echoes his creative approach to singing, with its musical pulses and melodic singing.
Following this are Fallen People and I Never Knew You, which both posit a real reggae vibe.
Dwell In Your Presence is sure to be a favourite with a slow praise melody. It comes with a catchy and meaningful chorus delivered by Edwards’ tuneful lead and stunning background vocals. He then shows much intimacy for God in his next track I Love You.
Giving room for sober manifestation, Offer Myself (the benediction song) and I Believe (The healing song), both carries significant messages of God’s guidance, faith and healing.
I Worship You follows and will leave you in an atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving.
Another featured collaborative featured came from Damion Orlando, in the rendition of the title track Hide Away. This powerful, well-written track affirms the purpose of the album. Seeking after God and having a personal relationship with Him.
Jermaine wraps up the album with Worship Medley featuring the gifted songbird Alicia Foster.
