One step further and PERFECT
As a Do-It-Yourselfer, many projects you do are ongoing as you work towards making them just right or PERFECT. As is the case with a set of tables and chairs that I featured several weeks ago, when I had them refinished and made seat cushions for them. Even then, they still lacked a bit of cohesion with the rest of the room…until now.
Using storage boxes that are a part of the room as inspiration, as well as the patterns of the curtain, the tables and chairs were hand painted to make them cohesive with the theme of the room.
If (like me) you’re not extremely gifted at painting, there are many options available to you to “get the look”, such as stencilling, stickers or transfer paint. I, however, provided the inspiration and had a very gifted cousin do the rest. I am absolutely thrilled with the results.
Craft stores like Liguanea Drug and Garden carry many choices of acrylic paints, stencils and brushes; just know that if you go the route of painting you will need to seal the finished product to protect it from stripping. Stickers are also available there and can help you achieve the look. Transfer paint patterns may be a challenge for you to find locally, but with so many options for importing these days, these can be found online in a myriad of pattern choices.
