Going to Hellshire Beach with my parents on weekends

Paul Smith’s, Sunshine

The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
What are your home creature comforts?
Moroccan rugs and an industrial ceiling fan I installed this summer.

A grey blazer from Muji

Hotel Du Tresor in Marrakech, a great little riad near the centre of the old city — Jemaa El Fna.
La Champagneria — a hole in the wall in Barcelona that serves only Cava and all kinds of pork between crusty bread.
Surfing at Freights Bay, Barbados, Sayulita, A little fishing village in Mexico
Anywhere in Portland, Jamaica
A great beach for surfing and people watching on the outskirts of Rio called Macumba.

I’m working on the overall creative direction of an amazing musical talent, Taylor McFerrin who has recently signed to Brainfeeder (record label). I’m also shooting a video lookbook for LaissezPasser, a new fashion label some friends of mine have started in New York.
And your chill spots?
The closest available beach — even the ones in NYC.
You were recently a speaker at the recently concluded TEDx talks. What did you take away from it?
A lot of business cards! Just kidding… The idea that the young people in Jamaica want to be heard and their viewpoints considered. Interestingly enough, TEDx was before Bruce Golding’s resignation speech.
Finally, what’s your philosophy?
Learn from your mistakes.
