Grace Tropical Rhythms Port Royal Seafood Festival promises big things this Heroes Monday
If you are a seafood lover, a fan of great entertainment, and aching to give back to a community, the Grace Tropical Rhythms Port Royal Seafood festival will be the perfect place to spend your Heroes Monday.
Happening next Monday, October 17 at the Port Royal football field, this seafood festival not only promises to be the Heroes Day family event of this year — brimming with performances by local artistes, but also aims to give back to the Port Royal community.
“Come and expect big, big things come heroes Monday! There will be an interesting celebrity cook-off featuring Tifa, Serani, Tipa, Orville Edward, Derrick Wilks and Curlin Brown.” said Suwanee Stewart, senior brand manager of Grace Kennedy Foods and Services.
The festival will also feature performances by popular local artistes like Assasin, Ce’Cile, Macka Diamond, Romain Virgo and the king of the dancehall, Beenie Man, and Dancing Dynamites’ Flava Expressions and Ed Haadie.
Tahnida Nunes, Digicel’s sponsorship manager also shared in the excitement by adding that Digicel is proud to be a part of the event and that it is a must attend festival for everyone. Other main highlights of the festival will be a domino competition and attractive rides and games.
But our main focus on the festival is that the proceeds will go towards the clean up of and building programmes for the Port Royal Primary School. Funds will also help in assisting the refurbishing of computer labs in the community, as well as benefit The Port Royal Citizens Association.
Meanwhile, scholarships will also be given to the high achievers in the community and other students who really can’t afford to go to school.
All in all, based on messages from some of the sponsors such as Grace Tropical Rhythms, Digicel, Excelsior and RJR , this year staging will be big.
Gates open at 11pm; the cost for adults is $700 while children under 12 are free.
