‘She was born a crack baby’

People Post

She is the 13-year-old X-Factor USA contestant taking America by storm with her powerful voice and confidence beyond her years. And just like fellow contestants Stacy Francis and Chris Rene, it seems that Rachel Crow has also triumphed over tragedy. It has been revealed that the teenager lived in a crack den and suffered abuse when she was just a baby. Her adoptive mother Barbara made the heartbreaking admission to The New York Post. Barbara formally adopted Rachel one year after she and her husband Kelly fostered her. She said they have no idea, and will never know who her actual birth parents are. “She came to us through Social Services,” she told The Post. “In situations like that, it is a little more dangerous, so they keep everything sealed. It is not like entering into a typical private adoption. This is where parental rights were terminated, and the child suffered a lot of abuse.” She says she is now concentrating on winning the singing competition, and if she does, will use the $5-million prize money to assist other foster children achieve their dreams. “I want to build a foundation that makes them feel good about themselves… whether they want to sing or act or whether they want to be in sports or go to Harvard,” she says. “I want to make sure they get to chase their dreams.”

Demi Lovato fires up a new look

Demi Lovato is changing herself inside and out one step at a time. Back in September, the pop star debuted a tiny diamond stud nose ring, but now she has wowed her fans even more by dying her hair a bright shade of red. The 19-year-old tweeted this picture of herself on Sunday saying: “Just woke up from a nap. Can’t believe I fell asleep before tweeting this. ;).” Last week, the Skyscraper singer was caught in a serious smooch session with her 31-year-old ex-beau and That 70’s star Wilmer Valderrama outside of his Los Angeles home. After spending two months in a treatment facility for ’emotional and physical issues’ Demi reportedly reunited with the actor in late January. Also adding to her new look in March, Demi also got inked with wrist tattoos saying ‘stay strong’ and hearts as an inspiration from her fans who supported her during her rehab stint.

The Brangelina tribe

It can be hard enough for most parents getting one or two children organised for a family holiday on the other side of the world. So spare a thought for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who have six children — all aged 10 and under — to get packed, in the car, and on the plane in one piece. But even with or without the help of a nanny or two, their family trip looked like it had been done with minimal fuss as the family jetted into Japan this week. Angelina, 36, Brad, 48, and their six children — Maddox, ten, who was adopted from Cambodia; Pax, seven, adopted from Vietnam; Zahara, six, adopted from Ethiopia, and their biological children Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox — looked happy and relaxed as they made their way through Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport after their long-haul flight. Greeted by hundreds of cheering and waving fans, the children appeared unfazed by the attention, especially Pax, who gazed nonchalantly into the crowd as he walked holding hands with his mother. Angelina had daughter Vivienne in her other hand, while Vivienne’s twin Knox held on tight to father Brad and older sister Zahara. The family is in the Far East to promote Brad’s new film Moneyball.
