Cornwall, Holland to defend basketball titles

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Under-19 champions Cornwall College and Under-16 champions Holland United will begin the defence of their respective titles today as the ISSA/KFC Western Conference high school boys basketball competition gets underway with four games and an opening ceremony at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, starting at 10:00 am.

Holland, who went on to place third in the national play-offs, will start their defence against Herbert Morrison set to start at 11:30 am, while Cornwall and Rhodes Hall will start at 2:00 pm.

The first game will see Cornwall College taking on newcomer Frome Technical in an Under-16 game, while Holland and another newcomer Green Pond will meet in the final game of the day set to start at 3:30 pm.

There will also be an Opening Ceremony and Dress Parade between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Meanwhile,Knockalva Technical’s late application to take part in both sections has been accepted, while Frome Technical and Herbert Morrison Technical have withdrawn from the Under-19 section.
