Walk will make no difference
Dear Editor,
We know that whether the prime minister and the the Opposition leader walk, the garrisons are going to be the same.
I grew up in a garrison community and I know what it is like. It’s really a ghetto. Some politicians have become what they are because of ghetto communities. They are the ones who made and encouraged area leaders, so let us not act as if we are fools.
What difference will walks make? Are they going to draw out the area leaders? It’s full time we stop allowing these people who want our votes to stay in power and “eat a food”, as we call it. I really do not think it will make any difference as the prime minister might think. What we as Jamaicans must do is ask what’s going to happen when 5,000 public sector employees lose their jobs.
