MultiCare Foundation schools’ competitions begin today
THE MultiCare Inter-Schools Netball and Football competitions get underway today at the Breezy Castle Centre on Harbour Street in Downtown Kingston.
Thirty-one schools under the MultiCare umbrella and approximately 650 students will compete in the competitions, which feature three age groups.
Both competitions will take place over two days and will see the 10-12 age groups competing on the first day, and the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups competing on tomorrow’s second day. Play will be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Organised in association with the Sports Development Fund, the competitions are a part of the MultiCare Foundation’s sports programme which seeks to inculcate in the youngsters positive
values, the life-long adoption of a healthy lifestyle and the building of confidence and self esteem.
Endowed by LIME Jamaica, ICD Group Limited and Caribbean Cement Company Limited, the MultiCare Foundation adopts a holistic approach to child development and uses sports and the arts as catalysts to promote a culture of peaceful coexistence, tolerance and understanding among young people from diverse communities, and the reinforcement of the MultiCare fundamentals of love and respect for self and others.
