Hydel, Quest seek berth in Prep Schools final
FORMER champions Hydel and Quest will meet to decide the finalists of the Reggae Jammin/Hilyfe Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) Prep Schoolgirls netball competition this afternoon at the Leila Robinson Courts.
Both teams are currently unbeaten this season and are expected to be involved in a crucial game as they have won two matches each in Group “B” of the semi-final round, which is currently in progress. The games will be the last of the semis, with the final scheduled for next Thursday.
Hydel, coached by Larraine Miller, defeated Our Lady of the Angels and Wolmer’s, 15-2, and 18-5, respectively, in their two games, while the Doreen Chambers-coached Quest came out 11-9 and 8-6 winners. Both teams are locked on four points each.
Meanwhile, Vaz lead Group “A” with maximum four points after defeating defending champions Dunrobin and St Catherine, 13-10, and 10-6, respectively.
Champions Dunrobin’s only win was a convincing 28-10 result over bottom-of-the-table Sacred Heart Academy.
The Richard Coke-coached Dunrobin have a slim chance of making it to the final although they will be playing St Catherine, who have beaten Sacred Heart, 15-12.
However, it is hardly unlikely that the Ulalee Whitney-coached Vaz aggregation will lose their game against Sacred Heart in their final match.
