Should MJ’s doctor be sentenced?
Prosecutors asked a judge to sentence Michael Jackson’s former doctor to four years in prison for his involuntary manslaughter conviction. On the other hand, Dr Conrad Murray’s defence is requesting that he only receive probation.
Defence attorney Nareg Gourjian cited positive letters from Murray’s former patients and said, “There is no question that the death of his patient, Jackson, was unintentional and an enormous tragedy for everyone affected.”
All the same, prosecutors David Walgren and Deborah Brazil said Murray has shown no remorse for Jackson’s death and has blamed others instead for his passing, particularly the King of Pop himself.
Murray reportedly says, “I don’t feel guilty because I did not do anything wrong.”
This statement only made prosecutor eager for Murray to get maximum jail time.
Rihanna disappoints fans
Last Monday night at Loud tour show, R&B pop sensation Rihanna took the stage at London’s O2 Arena and was greeted by angry fans.
It was reported that she was scheduled to start at 9:00 pm, did not get started until 9:55 pm keeping fans waiting to see what she had to offer. As if that wasn’t disappointing enough it is said that fans grew more frustrated when the singer then reportedly put in a lackadaisical performance.
Allegedly, the Bajan star was delayed because of a slight hangover, after having been photographed leaving a London nightclub called Whiskey Mist in course of another nightspot in the early hours of Monday morning.
Benefit concert for Buju
A benefit concert is to be held for incarcerated reggae artiste Buju Banton on December 3 in Tampa, Florida.
According to the event’s main organiser, Taranee Jiles, they decided to do benefit concerts for the artiste in aid of his legal battle. Proceeds from the concert will go towards Buju’s efforts to appeal his conviction and 10-year prison sentence.
The line-up card includes local acts such as Delly Ranx, Gramps Morgan, Nadine Sutherland, Glen Washington and Norris Man along with a yet-to-be named special guest artiste.
Also, persons planning to attend the show will be asked to make a donation for the cause as organisers hope to make at least US$50,000 from the event.
