PNP supporters celebrate in anticipation of Tufton defeat
BLACK RIVER, St Elizabeth — The final count of the ballots cast in polling stations across the South West St Elizabeth constituency are now on in earnest at the Black River Primary School.Observer.
Preliminary results yesterday revealed that 9426 votes were polled for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate Dr Christopher Tufton, while the People’s National Party (PNP) candidate Hugh Buchanan amassed 9325 votes.
But, while the counting is underway scores of PNP supporters are now gathered in the Black River square- from where music is being blasted from a sound system — celebrating what they anticipate will be victory for their candidate.
