Jamalco, Tivoli lead the pack
DEFENDING champions Jamalco and Tivoli ‘A’ are joint leaders in the Jamaica National Building Society/Jamaica Netball Association ‘Elite’ Group of the Open League competition being played at the Leila Robinson Courts.
Both Jamalco and Tivoli ‘A’ have won four matches each to be joint leaders with 12 points each. Jamalco will be out of action this afternoon, while Tivoli ‘A’ will take on former many-time Open League champions Waulgrovians ‘A’, starting at 4:30 pm.
Following the two leaders in the standings are Waulgrovians ‘A’ , Mico ‘A’ and GC Foster Strikers ‘A’ with six points each from four games; Windalco with three points from five games; UWI Pelicans ‘A’ three points from three games with Tivoli ‘B’ at the bottom without a point from four matches.
At the Bank of Nova Scotia Sports Club in Liguanea on Tuesday, Jamalco defeated sister company Windalco, 32-25, but had to come from a half-time deficit of 17-16.
