THIS week TEENage will begin a new series called Stars Of Tomorrow, this week, we highight the young, talented Portmore United striker, Tremaine Stewart.

Stewart, a recent invitee to the National Senior Camp, told TEENage about some of his early experiences and how he got to this juncture.

Born May 8, 1988, he discovered his love for the sport by playing roadside football, or just kicking about anything in his path. He also went on to exhibit his host of dexterities in an inter-form class competition at the Eltham Park Primary school, where he got called up for the school’s team. He then went-on to win the coveted Primary School’s League Championship in 2002.

“It was one of my earliest moments, and I am privileged, that I have had the chance to showcase my talent,” Stewart affirmed.

Stewart reminisced about his 23-second strike against Jamaica College at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, while playing for Eltham High in 2006.

“I can’t forget that match, I remember it like it was yesterday,” Stewart explained, as he looked to the sky with a proud smile. That same year he and his talented teammates landed the prestigious Walker Cup Knockout Trophy, and swept the coveted individual Most Valuable Player [MVP] Award.

Other achievements for the young Player came fast when he became Super League Champion with former Premier League outfit August town. He also collected a second runner-up medal in the 2010 Digicel Premier League with his current club Portmore United. The diminutive youngster, also showed maturity to dismantle Tivoli Gardens FC, scoring a brace to capture the first 2011/12 Red Stripe Premier League End-of-Round final Competition, held at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

In fact, the versatile youngster was recently invited on Football GPS, seen on CVM-TV. Stewart has had Some-amount of overseas experience, playing minor stints in England, Norway, Florida, and Trinidad & Tobago where he travelled with the Manning and deCosta Cup team.

Stewart also described himself as humble, diligent, and a family person with an open-heart to everyone. He therefore aspires to the tremendous talent of Ronaldinho.

“Ronaldinho! Is the greatest player I have ever seen, and what amazes me is the way he always plays with a smile, even when the tough is against him,” he declared.

When asked what his few words were for aspiring players like himself, Stewart added, “Nothing comes easy. Always be humble, keep focus and work hard. If it’s your dream, don’t give up, and make sure God is first,” Stewart concluded, as it shows that he is definitely, a Star Of Tommorow.
