RELATIVES, friends and members of the constabulary came out in their numbers at the Grace Baptist Church in May Pen, Clarendon Last Saturday to bid farewell to Corporal Dave Donovan Robb of the May Pen Traffic Department.

Robb died suddenly on January 20.

He was 41-years-old.

Robb, who was hailed as an outstanding policeman and a true friend, was remembered by his daughter Yanique as a caring father who went the extra mile to make her life as comfortable as possible.

Robb was born at Thrift Avenue in St Andrew to parents Alphanso and Carmen Robb on January 29, 1970. He gained his formal education at The St John’s Basic, St Andrews Primary and St Catherine High Schools.

According to Robb’s patrol officer Deputy Superintendent Stephenson Green, who read the eulogy, he was a disciplined teenager.

“He was shy, respectful and a well disciplined student. At an early age Dave was seen as hardworking and ambitious. He was reliable and very humble,” Green said.

Robb joined the ranks of the constabulary in 1991 and was assigned to the Clarendon Police Division after he completed his training at the Police Academy.

“He had a very pleasant smile which captured the hearts of even those he prosecuted,” Green said.

During his time as a cop Robb received training in the fields of driving and maintenance, scene of crime prevention, breathalysers and modified traffic accident reporting.

After receiving a commendation for efficient and dedicated service after he recovered a firearm and arrested a perpetrator, Robb was promoted to the rank of Corporal in December 2008.

Due to his sense of responsibility and eagerness to learn Robb, was transferred to the Traffic Department where he worked for over a decade until the time of his transition.

Corporal Dave Donovan Robb is survived by his wife Ann-Marie, children, other relatives and his colleagues in the constabulary force.

His remains were interred in the Denbigh Cemetery.
