Culturefest 2012
TREASURE Beach kicks off its Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence celebrations with the staging of Culturefest 2012 over the weekend of Friday February 24 to Sunday February 26.
Treasure Beach Culturefest 2012 will offer cultural, sporting, music, literary and visual art events at various locations and forms part of the community’s official JAMAICA 50 and Black History Month celebrations.
Accommodation providers, food and craft vendors and other business interests are expected to benefit from the influx of visitors to the area.
YOLO Fridaze
Team Redlinerz auto club and SHHH boutique presents Y.O.L.O (You Only Live Once) Fridaze this and every other Friday beginning February 24, 2012 on the lawns of SHHH Boutique located at 9 Phoenix Avenue, St Andrew from 6 pm – 12 pm.
Special DJs will rotate at each to provide a different vibe and energy.
‘Emancipendence still a’comin’
What has the church been doing to advance the Emancipation and Independence of the Caribbean people?
This issue will be explored during the United Theological College of the West Indies’ (UTCWI’s) Founders’ Week under the theme, ‘Emancipendence Still A Comin’, to be held at the College’s Campus, 7 Golding Avenue, Mona, from Friday, March 2 to Saturday, March 10, 2012.
‘Emancipendence Still A Comin’ will pay tribute to Jamaica’s Golden Jubilee and will seek to honour the work of outstanding Caribbean theologians.
Jazz on the Green
Rotary Jazz on the Green concert on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Jamaica House.
This is the 8th staging and showcases the best of jazz (real jazz) performers in Jamaica.
In the wonderful ambiance of Jamaica House we will see performances by Myrna Hague, Dean Frazer, Judy Emmanuelle, Marjorie Whylie and Peter Ashbourne.
Along with the “all inclusive” wines and drinks to complement sumptious and renowned catering by Loraine Fung, this celebrated event continues to deliver great value to our patrons, year after year.
