Local Runway Designs

The recent Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Best Friends Forever brunch held at the Wyndham Kingston Hotel’s Green Market Café afforded members of the WLI the opportunity to hit the runway with stylish threads from fashion houses Brown Sugar, Angela’s and Karmen’s Kollection. There were style moments galore at the Hanover Charities Sugar Cane Ball at Round Hill Resort and Villas, as well as at the Chukka Polo and Car Show in Sandy Bay last weekend. AW shares highlights.

Travelling chiropractor Dr Tracey Wright opted for a strapless metallic-gold print dress from Indigo Boutique for the Sugar Cane Ball.

Yoga studio entrepreneur Susan Emery’s family jewels might have been what caught our attention, but her sheer Versace gown earned her style points at last Saturday’s Sugar Cane Ball.

Hanover Charity Polo and Car Show at Chukka, Sandy Bay

Suzette Lawrence’s bougainvillea-adorned fascinator was a head-turner at polo. The Medimpex Pharmaceutical western territory manager completed her ensemble with a white lace minidress, purple clutch and bangles.

0038

Chukka director Paola Byles hit the fashion target at polo in this sleeveless cobalt blue faux-wrap dress, black fascinator and nude pumps.

0075

Anna-Kay Tomlinson, director at Miss T’s Kitchen, is snazzily attired for polo in a grey suit vest and matching shorts. She completes her look with a black fedora with red and leopard print accents.

We spotted Tanisa Samuel, J Wray & Nephew Western operations manager, in a print bustier top, black mini skirt and fascinator at polo last Sunday.

Gal pals Lylibeth Eaton (left) and Barbara Rodriguez made a stylish pair at polo last Sunday. Eaton donned an oversized navy-blue and white hat matching her navy-blue floral mini, and Rodriguez wore a sky-blue and white faux-wrap dress, completing the look with a white hat.
