Wadadah cop mid-season trophy
FROME, Westmoreland — Former champions Wadadah FC hammered promoted Savannah FC 4-0 at the Frome Sports Grounds on Sunday to take the Jamaica Football Federation’s Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League mid-season title.
Curtis Palmer scored twice for Wadadah who led 3-0 at half time after scoring three times in the last 15 minutes of the first half.
Palmer scored in the 30th and 45th minutes, while Damion Reid added a third in time added on at the end of the first half.
Isaac Brown then scored his first goal of the season in the 67th minute to put the game out of the reach of Savannah.
The teams had qualified for the play-off after topping their respective zones after two rounds of competition.
Wadadah had topped Zone One with 18 points while Savannah topped Zone Two with 21 points.
The competition will resume on Sunday.
