JURA Levy of Oklahoma Baptist University ran a season’s best 11.27 seconds to win the 100 metres at the Michael Johnson/Dr Pepper Classic in Waco, Texas at the weekend.

American Tiffany Townsend was second in 11.31 and Great Britain’s Lorraine Ugen third in a personal best 11.55.

At the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia, 22-year-old Tarika Williams of the University of Miami logged personal bests in both the 100m and 200m with times of 11.42 and 23.68, respectively.

She was third in the 100 metres after Clemson University’s Dezerea Bryant and Jasmine Edgerson, who booked personal bests 11.29 and 11.39, respectively.

In the 200m, Williams was again third after Clemson duo Bryant (personal best 23.05) and Marlena Wesh (personal best and Haitian record 23.06).

Jamaican Akheem Gauntlett of the University of Arkansas clocked a personal best 45.65 to win the 400m at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The 21-year-old outpaced Arkansas teammate Marek Niit, who clocked a personal and Estonian record 45.91, with Bahamian Andretti Bain third in 47.03.

Dexter Lee, meanwhile, ran 10.38 for third at the University of Florida Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.

American Jeffery Demps won in 10.19, beating Trinidad & Tobago’s Rondell Sorrillo who was second in 10.32.

Aleen Bailey, also competing at Tom Jones Invitational, ran a season-best 11.32 for second in the 100m won by American Charonda Williams, 11.27. Another Jamaican, Samantha Henry-Robinson, ran 11.39 for third.

Richard Phillips posted a season-best 13.51 to finish fourth in the 110m hurdles at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence. American Ronnie Ash won in 13.37, ahead of countrymen Jeff Porter, 13.44, and Antwon Hicks, 13.46.

Dwight Thomas placed sixth in a season-best 13.54.
