AVA-MARIA Campbell was crowned Miss Jamaica World Cornwall 2012 at the coronation show held at Sunset Beach Resort and Spa in Montego Bay last Sunday.

First runner-up went to Candice McLeod, while Leonie Daley copped the second runner-up prize.

Campbell received $50,000 cash courtesy of D & A Investment, a gift basket from Soft Sheen Carson, Jewellery from Royal Shop, four days and three nights stay at Hotel RIU, dinner for two at Robin’s Prime Steakhouse, a photoshoot and portrait from Michael Chen Photography, as well as and one-year gym membership with Express Fitness.

Meanwhile, McLeod prizes include $25,000 cash courtesy of Limitless Services, gift basket from Soft Sheen Carson while Daley got $15,000 in cash and three-month gym membership with Express Fitness, among other prizes.

The eight finalists kick- started the show with a dance number in Jamaican-themed attire. The contestants also paraded in swimwear and evening wear provided by Koko Beanz.

Campbell will get an automatic spot in the Miss Jamaica World Grand Coronation Show to be held in time for Jamaica’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Entertainment was provided by Nostalgia and singer Evon Lake.
