Shari Reid happy with ‘Dangerous’ feat
Singer Shari Reid recently made headlines when her single Dangerous was selected for the soundtrack to the film, Freelancers.
The action flick was directed by Jessy Casseus and stars Academy Award winners Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker, Dana Delany and rapper Curtis ’50 cent’ Jackson.
In a telephone interview with the Jamaica Observer, the 25-year-old Reid basked in Dangerous’ feat.
“This movie includes some of Hollywood’s best actors and to know that I penned the lyrics to the featured song is really a big deal for me,” she said.
Reid, who resides in New York, is completing her 15-track debut album, expected to be released later this year.
Among the producers who worked on the album are Jermaine Blake, the man behind Dangerous, and Cedric Brown who has worked with high-profile artistes such as Wyclef Jean and Jill Scott.
Reid’s musical journey goes back to 2005 when she was a finalist in the Digicel Rising Stars contest.
It would be another five years before Reid, a former student at Marymount High School, released her debut song, My Body.
