Hillel top all-island table tennis champs
HILLEL Prep won the team event at the 18th annual All Island Prep School Table Tennis Championship at the YMCA on Thursday where 109 schools from across the 14 parishes competed.
Pratik Harjani of Hillel played unbeaten and won the Boys’ Under-12 Singles, while Dadrian Lewis of St Catherine was similarly undefeated and captured the Girls section. Both were by a similar 3-1 scoreline.
Pratik, the Hillel lynchpin, turned back Janiel Powell of Portmore, while Lewis beat Kelice Sinclair of Portmore in the final matches of the evening’s play. Earlier southpaw Emma Dibbs of Immaculate frustrated Briana Mundell of Portmore Missionary to win 3-1 in the Girls Under-10 category, while Jon Pierre Daley of St Andrew defeated David Summerbell-Senna by a similar score in the boys’ section.
