Moonsplash creates a stir
THE recently-concluded two-day ‘Just Cool’ Moonsplash Festival held at the Dune Preserve — Rendezvous Bay in Anguilla, was a grand affair.
The festival — now in its 22nd year — saw a number of performers including Gramps Morgan, Cat Coore, Leba, Chu Chu Benz ‘Big Links Sound’ from Trench Town, Anguilla Times Band, The True Intentions Band, Ikronic Band, as well as the Omari Banks-led band Eleven.
The featured act — David Hines of Steel Pulse fame — delivered a powerful set. He went through the Steel Pulse’s hit songs including Rally Round, King James Version, Raid I Blues Dance, Bodyguard, Stepping Out and an acoustic version of Throne of Gold.
Promoter and artiste Bankie Banx — backed by Ikronic Band — and his long-time guitarist Junior Jazz, stamped his class with Just Cool, from the album with the same name, followed by It’s the Law, Outta my hands, Prince of Darkness, Down on the Corner, and Small Scoops.
