Gayle Top West Indies One Day Century maker
Left-hander Christopher Gayle earlier became the top century-maker in West Indies One-Day International (ODI) history with a thumping hundred against New Zealand at Sabina Park in Kingston.
Scores: West Indies 228-3 (38 overs)
After ‘Kiwis’ captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first, West Indies lost Lendl Simmons (3), but scored freely and reached 228-2 after 38 overs.
Gayle, who reached the milestone off just 88 balls, was eventually caught in the deep by Tom Latham off pacer Kyle Mills for 125. The Jamaican blasted nine deliveries for maximum ropes and hammered eight boundaries.
