Stop police killings

Dear Editor,

We the Spanish Town Citizens Against Gun Violence are appalled at the police killings in Jamaica. From Keith Clarke, to Mickey Hill, in Spanish Town several times, to Mountain View, and the slaughters in Tivoli Gardens. Too much silence pervades the land as regards this serious problem.

One wonders if someone gives the orders to “shoot and kill”. But it is very important that all communities act now to return Jamaica to the peaceful and loving place it once was. This organisation calls on the private sector and all well-meaning Jamaicans to demand that the government see that these killings come to an end.

We need to hear from the prime minister and wish to have a meeting with the minister of national security on the matter.

Rosemarie Greene
