Holness wants military school for boys
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – Opposition Leader Andrew Holness has called for the setting up of a public military school for boys in Jamaica.
Holness, who was speaking at the graduation ceremony of Prospect College, a private cadet school in St Mary yesterday, noted that he believed that our boys need the guidance and regimen of such a school.
In calling for a military government partnership in education, the opposition leader maintained that there is significant value in investing in our boys in this way as the qualities of coordination, timing, uniformity, neatness, orderliness and discipline are qualities that employers are seeking.
He said preliminary discussions to base such a school at Up Park Camp if the military had relocated, had been initiated.
He pledged that if returned to power, he would seek such a partnership with the military to make such a school a reality.
