Excellent, Frater!

Dear Editor,

All hail Michael Frater, the perennial unsung hero of our Olympic relay team. He has been a member of that team for as long as I can remember, which has held both national and world records in the 4 x 100-metre relays.

I wish to recommend to the JAAA that they produce a CD of Mr Frater’s execution of the baton change between himself and Nesta Carter, in slow motion – a thing of sheer beauty, which should be preserved forever — from the moment of his preparation to receive until he clears “the box” and is in full flight.

This CD should be distributed to every school which participates in “Champs”, for their edification. I will be willing to wager that, thereafter, Jamaica will continue to win the 4 x 100-metre relays (men’s and women’s) at future Olympics.
