Whitter Group makes donation to CRH Hemodialysis Unit
MONTEGO BAY, St James – The Cornwall Regional Hospital received a well needed boost last week when the Whitter Group handed over a cheque for $601,000 to the institution’s Hemodialysis Unit.
The donation represents proceeds from the staging of the Jamaica 50 Classic Independence Golf Tournament “Swing & Save a Life” held at the Ironshore Golf Club earlier this month.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony Chief Executive Officer for the Whitter Group Angella Whitter told the gathering that her company is passionate about assisting the hospital.
“My company has a passion for the hospital and for giving back and I thought it would’ve been a good idea to have a tournament for the hospital so that we could get funding. We at Whitter Group will continue to do whatever we can to help raise funds to assist the hospital,” she said.
And Chief Executive Officer for Cornwall Regional Hospital Everton Anderson commended the group for the donation.
“I want to thank Ironshore Golf and Country Club for their generosity as well as the sponsors for their support. We look forward to the support of the community and stand willing to embrace partnerships with the private and public sectors, donors and non- government organisations,” he stressed.
