Business House 5-A-Side league moves into KO phase
UDC and Scotiabank Group played to 1-1 draw in their final game of the preliminary round of the 2012 Business House Five-A-Side football competition at the NWC Playfield Mona, last Monday.
The result ensured their places in the quarter-finals as only the top six teams from Division One will advance to the next phase.
Favourites Spanish Grain Stores stopped Lascelles Limited 4-0 with Shamari Hibbert scoring a brace. They are in second position on 21 pointsfrom eight matches. Defending champions Peak Bottling with four goals from Troylan Williams defeated Island Grill 5-2 and are also on 21 points. Jamaica Broilers are fourth on 16 points and are followed by Scotiabank Group ‘B’, who lost 0-2 to former champions Tank-Weld Metals. Both are on 16 points. Horace Jones and Carlos Wright scored for Tank-Weld Metals.

In Division Two, the top three teams from each zone will qualify for the quarter-finals. Mega Mart lead Zone One with 27 points over Cari-Med on 24 points. Digicel defeated MailPac 4-0 to move into third place on 20 points.
In Zone Two, Andre McFarlane scored five goals in Cable Pro Data Services’ 7-0 victory over Flow, and moved to an unassailable 25 points. Second-place Food for The Poor with goals from Jason Vassell and Lionel Chandler, carried them to a 2-0 victory over Ministry of Agriculture on 18 points. Jam Eagles, who drew 1-1 with Knutsford Court Hotel, moved into third place, also on 18 points.
JIO lead Zone Three with 24 points after they drew 1-1 with UCC and are followed by Tastee Limited also on 24 points. Goals from Romain Smith and Oniel Bariffe carried them to a 2-2 draw with third-place T-Geddes Grant. Derrick Graham scored a brace for T-Geddes Grant to move them into third place on 20 points.
