What to watch: Fall TV 2012

THIS week, TEENage has decided to provide you with some of our picks to watch this fall, when back-to-school has come and gone. So, when the homework is done and you need to relieve stress, you can enjoy one of the shows from our Fall TV Guide.

America’s Next Top Model

Parental Guidance rating: TV-PG

Return Date: August 24

Time: Friday 8:00 pm-9:00 pm

Synopsis: America’s Next Top Model is a reality show which follows a set of young women competing for a start in the modelling industry.

Channel: CW

Glee

Parental Guidance rating: TV-PG

Return Date: September 13

Time: Thursday 9:00 pm-10:00 pm

Synopsis: Glee is a musical comedy-drama which follows a set of high school glee club members who have to deal with competing in a choir competition, while also dealing with everyday matters like relationships and other social issues.

How I Met Your Mother

Parental Guidance rating: TV-14

Return Date: September 24

Time: Monday 8:00 pm-8:30 pm

Synopsis: This Emmy Award-winning series follows Ted Mosby and his friends as he searches for romance and ‘the one’. It is set in 2030, but mainly uses flashbacks as Ted tells his children about his journey to meeting their mother.

Castle

Parental Guidance rating: TV-PG

Return Date: September 24

Time: Monday 10:00 pm-11:00 pm

Synopsis: Castle follows writer Richard Castle who consults for the NYPD and Detective Kate Beckett who work together to solve various crimes all the while trying to solve the murder of Beckett’s mother and their burgeoning romance.

NCIS: Los Angeles

Parental Guidance rating: TV-14

Return Date: September 25

Time: Tuesday 9:00pm – 10:00pm

Synopsis: NCIS: Los Angeles is a spin-off of the original NCIS which follows undercover agents as they take different investigative cases. This sees agents working a lot more covertly when investigating different military issues. This cuts the list ahead of NCIS, which returns just an hour before this show, because of personal preferences however the original is just as good a show.

Dancing With The Stars

Time: Tuesday 8:00pm – 9:00pm

Synopsis: Dancing With The Stars pairs celebrities with professional dancers in a ballroom dancing competition.

Arrow

Parental Guidance rating: TV-14

Premier Date: October 10

Time: Wednesday 8:00 pm-9:00 pm

Synopsis: This Smallville spin-off looks a bit more mature than the original, following the superhero Green Arrow, aka Oliver Queen, who returns home after being stuck on an island for five years. It follows all aspects of Queen’s life from his alter-ego’s escapades to Oliver’s romantic life.

Chicago Fire

Parental Guidance rating: TV-14

Premier Date: October 10

Time: Wednesday 10:00 pm-11:00 pm

Synopsis: Chicago Fire will follow the exploits of the fire-fighters, paramedics and general Rescue Respondents working at the Chicago Fire Department. There aren’t many shows that follow fire-fighters or paramedics so people looking for something new to watch should be excited.

The Vampire Diaries

Parental Guidance rating: TV-14

Return Date: October 11

Time: Thursday 8:00 pm-9:00 pm

Synopsis: This show is a supernatural drama that follows a love triangle between the protagonist Elena Gilbert and two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore. It focuses on the brothers protecting the human Elena from various dangers, however, in last season’s finale Elena was turned into a vampire so this season should have a new feel to it.

Nikita

Parental Guidance rating: TV-14

Time: Friday 9:00 pm-10:00 pm

Synopsis: Nikita follows a spy, who is trying to dismantle her former organisation with the help of people around her. It deals with her exploits in both a professional and romantic aspect.
