First-class policing
Dear Editor,
I wish to commend the police on their performance after the vicious slaying of young Michael Rochester. This was first-class, first-world police work.
I think there is a lesson for those members of the force who seem to think that the extrajudicial use of force gets the job done. It should be evident by now that it humiliates and brings grief to the people and builds up a deep reservoir of resentment, which denies the force the cooperation needed to fight crime. It does not produce results. Smart policing does.
