Taxi operator got away from bailiff

Tell Claudienne

Dear Claudienne

I had a case in the Mandeville court from 2010 in which an order was made by the court for the operator of a taxi to pay for damage to my son’s motor car.

At that time a bailiff attached to the Mandeville court was paid $5,000 to execute the warrant but up to now it has not been served. He claims that he is unable to find the taxi operator to serve the papers on him.

Please see what you can find out for me.

JN

Dear JN

Tell Claudienne spoke to the bailiff. He said that the warrant has now expired. He said he was unable to execute the warrant because you were not able to provide him with certain vital information that he needed. He said that he asked you for the licence number of the taxi and for the address of the taxi operator but you did not give him this information. He said that when he checked with the police who you said could assist, they said they had no information about the matter.

Please see if you can get specific information that can assist the bailiff.

Good luck

Dear Claudienne

In November 2011 I applied to the Registrar General’s Department for my name to be added to my son’s birth certificate. I paid for the seven-day service but to date I have not received same.

I visited the office on King Street several times where I was given a number and told to sit and wait to hear my number called.

I am 78 years old and I am suffering from prostrate cancer and there is no sanitary facility at the RGD office for their clients.

Please check on this matter for me.

CS

Dear CS

According to the RGD you applied for reregistration and in November 2010 you were sent documents to be signed before a Justice of the Peace. Those documents were also to be signed by your mother. The documents were not returned to the RGD until November 2011, by which time your mother had died. The RGD explained to Tell Claudienne that your mother’s death brought the process to a halt.

However, since we contacted the RGD we note that on Friday September 7 the RGD sent a status form to your house for you to complete so that your name could be added to your son’s birth certificate. We further note that you have completed the form and returned it to the RGD. The RGD said that your application is now being processed and they promised to let you have the birth certificate before the end of the week.

Good luck
