Dancehall’s finest up for MOBO Award
FIVE artistes are up for the Best Reggae Act category at the November 3 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in Liverpool, England.
Konshens, Damian Marley, Sean Paul, Popcaan, and Mr Vegas are the contenders.
Sean Paul’s Tomahawk Technique album has scaled the UK charts. He hit the singles charts in recent months with She Doesn’t Mind, and How Deep Is Your Love featuring Kelly Rowland.
Popcaan has entered UK reggae charts with the tracks Ravin, Clean, and Only Man She Want.
Marley’s Affairs of the Heart has been a favourite on UK reggae charts, while Mr Vegas’ Bruck it Down topped the BBC 1Xtra Dancehall chart.
Konshens is experiencing his biggest year to date. His hits on the UK scene include Stop Sign, Do Sumn and Gal a Bubble.
Now in its 17th year, the annual MOBO Awards recognises acts who have impacted the UK music scene.
Last year, the Best Reggae Act category was won by Italian singer Albarosie.
