Minister promises replacement bridge for Kintyre
The National Works Agency yesterday restored access to the Kintyre community which was cut off following Sunday’s flood rains which washed away a section of the ford across the Hope River. In the meantime, junior minister in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing Richard Azan announced yesterday that work should begin by early November on a replacement bridge for Kintyre. He said $100 million has been set aside for the project, $65 million of which will be used for installation of the new bridge and the remainder for river training and associated road works.
