Kartel gets bail but remains in custody

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jailed entertainer Vybz Kartel was today granted $500,000 bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of perverting the course of justice.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was granted bail following an application by attorney Chris Tavares-Finson.

He’s to next appear in court on January 25.

However, the entertainer cannot be released from custody as he’s been held on one of two murder charges for which he was charged before the Home Circuit Court.
