York Town, Wood Hall into KO quarter-finals
MAY PEN, Clarendon — York Town advanced to the quarter-finals of the Clarendon FA Knock-out competition following a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory over Original Hazard on Tuesday.
The teams had played out a 0-0 stalemate in full and extra-time, before goals from Michael Levy, Kevin Brown, Clifford Guy and Odean Morgan earned them a quarter-final date with Premier League side Sporting Central Academy at Brancourt on December 12.
Wood Hall also booked their place in the last-eight after Monymusk failed to show for their second-round game at Pawsley Park in Lionel Town.
The north central Clarendon side will now face defending champions Humble Lion at Effortville in their quarter-final tie, also on December 12.
The competition continues today with two more second-round games, starting at 3:00 pm.
Jamalco, fresh from their 13-1 first-round thrashing of Hypermistic, will take on Summerfield at Turners Oval in Chapelton, while Blackstars host New Bowens at Kemps Hill.
The winner of the Summerfield-Jamalco fixture will meet Super League outfit Spartan Athletic at Turners, while Four Paths will host either New Bowens or Blackstars, in the last-eight on December 13.
