A driven and determined multitasker, Amber Stewart — chairman of Track Price Plus — seamlessly balances the roles of motherhood, businesswoman and philanthropist. And when Member of Parliament for West Portland Daryl Vaz called on her to host a fund-raising cocktail reception for the Portland Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund on November 21, she quickly rolled out the welcome carpet in aid of her fellow Jamaicans. In-between playing gracious hostess and wishing daughter Emma a happy 10th birthday, SO caught up with the ever-so-busy Stewart over cocktails.

I’m having a great day. It’s my daughter Emma’s 10th birthday and I’m hosting a wonderful event for a worthy cause.

I’m a socialite who appreciates time for relaxation at home.

Always persevere and do your best in everything you do.

What has been your proudest achievement to date?

Raising my three wonderful daughters.

When you’re not working, where’s the best place to find you?

At home, spending quality time with my family.

What’s next for you?

Focusing my energy on raising more funds for the Hurricane Sandy Portland Relief Fund — as the head of the Hillel Academy Parent-Teacher Association, I’m always working in that capacity; and growing Track Price Plus.

How did you become involved with the Hurricane Sandy Portland Relief Fund?

Member of Parliament Daryl Vas started the initiative, and as a citizen of this country, I didn’t think twice to lend a helping hand.

Who or what inspires you?

Nation-building and togetherness is what inspires me. For those reasons, I’ve decided to live in Jamaica, do business here, raise my family here, and engage in philanthropic activities.

How do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Right here in Jamaica, excelling as a mother, wife, sibling, businesswoman, and philanthropist.
