Lolo Jones has first bobsled crash
WINTERBERG, Germany (AP) — Lolo Jones escaped unhurt in her first bobsled crash today.
The Olympic hurdler and first-year bobsled push athlete was in a sled that tipped over during a training run Monday for this weekend’s World Cup stop in Winterberg, Germany. Jones and driver Elana Meyers were not hurt.
Jones said on Twitter that going through the crash made her realise “God is real. I saw him today and he said come back later.”
Bobsled crashes are not unusual, especially in training runs when drivers are trying to master unfamiliar tracks.
Jones handled it with humour. When people at the track asked how she was, Jones said she asked them to bring her a mirror so she could check her face.
Jones wrote, “Forget my legs and arms. I’m still single!”
