Tabletop Tree Alternative
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree how lovely are your branches…but what if you don’t have the space to accommodate said branches? Here’s an alternative: a tabletop Christmas tree, a wonderful and cheerful holiday accent that takes up no floor space.
Here are a few recommendations:
1. The Traditional: A miniature pine, elevated on a side table, sideboard or coffee table is a great option if you lack floor space. Decorated just as you would your regular tree and the tabletop is a great place to store all those gifts.
2. The Modern: A modern twist for the non-traditional. A cluster of miniature modern trees arranged on an entrance table, coffee table, sofa table or mantle/shelf. With this arrangement, be sure you keep the cluster in odd numbers…3, 5, 7. Odd numbers are more aesthetically pleasing.
3. The DIY tree: made from decorative cardstock paper. There are two options to this tree. The first is to get various patterns of Christmas paper and a range of circles in progressive sizes ranging from an inch to as large as eight inches. Cut out circles from the paper and use a hole punch to make a circle in the centre. Insert a dowel into the centre of a round cake board and then start stacking the paper circles, starting with the largest and ending with the smallest. Top with a small ball or star ornament and enjoy.
4. The DIY tree is really very simple. Using the cone template trace on the back of decorative paper, in varying sizes, and cut out your cones. Roll, fold and glue, and you will have adorable accents to dress up any table.
Merry Christmas, and enjoy!
